২০১০ সালের ৭ জানুয়ারি রাজশাহী পলিটেকনিক ইনস্টিটিউটে সংঘর্ষে ছাত্রলীগের হামলায় নিহত হন ছাত্রমৈত্রীর রেজাওয়ানুল চৌধূরী সানি। এ ঘটনায় ক্যাম্পাস অনির্দিষ্টকালের জন্য বন্ধ ঘোষণা করে কর্তৃপক্ষ। ওই দিন বিকেল পাঁচটার মধ্যে শিক্ষার্থীদের আবাসিক ছাত্রাবাস ত্যাগের নিদের্শ দেওয়া হয়। এর কিছুদিন পর এই শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানটি খুলে পড়াশোনার পরিবেশ স্বাভাবিক হলেও দীর্ঘ সাড়ে ছয় বছর ধরে বন্ধই রয়েছে ইনস্টিটিউটের তিনটি ছাত্রাবাস। ফলে অবকাঠামো থাকার পরেও আবাসন সুবিধা থেকে বঞ্চিত হচ্ছেন নগরীর বাইরে থেকে আসা শিক্ষার্থীরা। এতে করে চরম ভোগন্তি পোহাতে হচ্ছে তাদের। এ অবস্থায় দ্রুত ছাত্রাবাসগুলো খুলে দেওয়ার জোর দাবি জানিয়েছেন শিক্ষার্থীরা। অন্যদিকে র্দীঘদিন ছাত্রাবাস বন্ধ থাকায় তা বসবাসের অনুপযোগী হয়ে পড়েছে। ফলে সংস্কার না হওয়ায় ছাত্রাবাসগুলো খুলে দেওয়া সম্ভব হচ্ছে না। তবে ছাত্রাবাস সংস্কার করে তা খুলে দেওয়ার চেষ্টা করা হচ্ছে বলে দাবি করেছেন পলিটেকনিক ইন্সটিটিউট কর্তৃপক্ষ। অন্যদিকে একাধিক সূত্র নিশ্চিত করেছে, রাজশাহী পলিটেকনিক ইনস্টিটিউটে ছাত্রলীগ ও ছাত্রমৈত্রীর দ্বন্দ্ব এখ...
